Lizzy and her co-creator Danny Feldman began Devise and Conquer in January of 2024 with the goal of creating free, low-stakes collaborative spaces to meet young artists their age. They achieve this by inviting 6 composer/lyricists, 5 playwrights, 5 performers, 2 orchestrators, a stage manager, a photographer, a documentarian and a director to write and rehearse a brand new original musical in just 24 hours, culminating in a performance that is free to the public.
Since that first edition in 2024, the organization has amassed 111 alumni across the aforementioned disciplines. They have utilized a growing list of different venues throughout New York City, including the Harvey Fierstein Theatre Lab at the Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts and the grand opening of the Wagner Event Space for Battery Park City Authority.
The group’s absurdist comedy style has led them to fourteen, and counting, uproarious performances ranging from foosball championships to the existential crisis of Waldo after being found.
